East Huntspill, All Saints

All Saints was built in late 1839 in a neo-Norman (or Romanesque) style (both are quoted by differing architects), the architect being Manners, originally as a Chapel of Ease within the parish of Huntspill being elevated to parish status in the late 1840s. A short tower of reconstructed stone with a low pyramidial roof was added in 1958 above the existing south porch, together with a chime of bells. The church was originally built as a chapel of ease to the Mother Church of Huntspill (now St Peter & All Hallows in West Huntspill). The church consists of a nave and chancel without side aisles, a vestry room on the north chancel wall behind the organ and a redundant boiler house outside on the north nave wall.

Built throughout in blue lias coursed stone with Doulting and Bath stone to doors, windows, copings, string courses and bellcote with a slated roof. A new pipe organ was installed in 1968 along with a modern oak pulpit from a demolished church in Bristol. In 1998 the open benches at the rear of the nave were removed to create a baptistery. The majority of the windows are of Victorian leaded stained glass, a recent addition being a 'dove' to the north west window to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the ending of WWII, the original crown glass being retained.
